Guidelines for Power Point Presentation
Slide Limit
  • The presentation will be limited to 10 slides to maintain conciseness and focus. Each slide will cover key aspects of the proposed scientific project.
Design Tips
  • A consistent and professional design theme should be planned throughout the presentation.
  • Readable fonts should be selected, and slides should avoid overcrowding with text.
  • Images and diagrams can be planned where appropriate to enhance understanding.
Design Tips
Total duration: 5 minutes (4 minutes for presentation and 1 minute for Q&A)
1. Title Slide (10 sec)
  • Include a clear title slide with the proposed project title, your name, degree pursuing, institute name, and date.
2. Introduction Slide (40 sec)
  • Provide an overview and the background of the proposed project and its objectives.
3. Problem Statement (50 sec)
  • Clearly define the issue.
  • Explain its significance and relevance.
4. Proposed Solution (50 sec)
  • Describe your innovative idea.
  • Include graphs, charts, and research findings that support the innovative solution
5. Future Scope/Potential Impact (50 sec)
  • Detail how the solution will benefit the community/individual, both immediately and in the long term.
  • Outline implementation steps of the proposed solution using bullet points or a flowchart for clarity.
  • Discuss expected positive outcomes and potential challenges.
6. Conclusion (30 sec)
  • Present and summarise the main points utilising potential graphs, charts, or tables for illustration.
7. Acknowledgements (10 sec)
  • Recognize support from individuals or institutes that may have supported the project.
Evaluation Criteria
1. Originality of Idea
  • Level of innovation and novelty of the idea
2. Identification and Solution of Problem
  • Clear identification of the problem
3. Clarity and Style of Presentation
  • Clarity of ideas and organisation of presentation
  • Impact of the presentation and confidence in delivery
4. Impact and Applicability
  • Positive impact on society
  • Practicality and implementation capability of the idea
5. Evidence and Research
  • Evidence-based presentation of ideas and solutions
  • Sufficient research and use of data
Each of these criteria will be scored out of five. The average of scores across the five criteria will give the total score of a participant.
